This section explains the usual route that recagoers would take when following a race:
The Parade Ring:
The Lad or Lass will lead the horse around the parade ring, this is a great opportunity to look at the horse you fancy before it goes onto the racetrack.
Just before the race the jockeys will leave the weighing room and make their way to the parade ring. They will receive final instructions from the trainers before the bell signals for them to mount and makle their way to the start.
The Bookmakers / tote
Whilst the horses are making their way down to the start, why not check the odds of the horse that caught your eye and place a bet with the bookmakers or the tote.
The Race
After you have placed your bet make your way to the front of the stand where you watch the race and hopefully cheer home your winner.
The Winners Enclsoure
After the race the first four placed horses will make their way into the winners enclosure. Each jockey will remove their saddles and goes into the weighing room to weigh-in. The other horses will go to the unsaddling area to be washed down and prepared for their journey home.
